Why People Love Kneeboarding

One of the things we hear most often from first-time kneeboarders is:

“That was much easier than I expected.”

While many people are initially nervous about trying watersports, kneeboarding offers a surprisingly quick and accessible introduction to being towed behind a boat. Because you’re kneeling rather than standing, many beginners find it easier to balance and build confidence from the very first ride.

Most complete beginners are riding successfully within just a few minutes, making kneeboarding one of the fastest ways to experience, and the easiest introduction, to the excitement of towed watersports.

It’s this combination of simplicity, excitement and early success that makes kneeboarding such a popular choice for complete beginners. Whether you’re trying watersports for the first time, introducing children to activities on the water, or simply looking for a fun and memorable holiday experience, kneeboarding is an excellent place to start.

Combined with the stunning scenery of Cornwall’s coastline and the relaxed atmosphere onboard, kneeboarding offers an enjoyable experience that quickly turns nervous beginners into confident riders.

Suitable for All Ages

One of the things we love most about kneeboarding is how accessible it can be.

We’ve introduced children as young as seven years old to their first watersports experience and helped adults celebrate milestone birthdays in their sixties by learning something completely new on the water.

Unlike wakeboarding and water skiing, the handle is attached directly to the kneeboard during the start. This means the board does much of the work of lifting you onto the surface of the water, rather than you having to hold on and pull yourself up against the force of the boat. Once the board is gliding across the water, all you need to do is pull yourself up into a kneeling position.

Because of this, many people find kneeboarding far less physically demanding and much less intimidating than other towed watersports. It’s one of the reasons complete beginners are often surprised by how quickly they build confidence and start riding successfully.

Whether you’re looking for a family activity in Cornwall, introducing children to watersports for the first time, or proving to yourself that it’s never too late to try something new, kneeboarding offers an exciting experience that can be enjoyed by a wide range of ages and abilities.

The Easiest Introduction to Towed Watersports

If you’ve always wanted to try watersports but felt unsure about wakeboarding or water skiing, kneeboarding is the perfect place to start.

The learning curve is quick, success comes early and most beginners are riding confidently within just a few minutes of their first attempt. Because you’re kneeling rather than standing, many people find it easier to balance, easier to control and far less intimidating than other towed watersports.

Kneeboarding gives you all the excitement of being behind the boat while removing many of the challenges that can make other watersports feel daunting for complete beginners.

For this reason, kneeboarding is often the activity we recommend to guests who are new to watersports or lacking confidence. Once they’ve experienced the feeling of gliding across the water and realised they’re capable of doing it, many go on to try wakeboarding or water skiing later in the same session or on future visits.

It’s not just an introduction to kneeboarding. It’s often the first step into the wider world of watersports.
